I’m absolutely with you Earunder on saving £££s.
I was specifically referring to AT changing the platform and making it worse.

About 6 months ago I had a BMW bore, with a BMW p/x, interested in one of my gems.
Firstly he emailed War & Peace telling me his engine was based on the 1970s Formula 1 engine, so I ignored him. Strangely for one of these email bores he phoned up with the same spiel, you’d of thought this idiot’s car was actually a Formula 1 car - embarrassing. His car? A f***ing clapped out 18 year old 318 estate with about 200K on the clock. Arsehole valued it at something like £1500, I bid him £100 and when he started his patter again I cut him off. I’d hate to have to deal with an Alpina bore

The clear HPI report would be what you need. I think you say that it was clear when you checked it in 2016, and that now it shows that it was clocked in 2012? And have you sold it to a trader or to a private individual as a 'trade sale'? TS may just want to go through the trail, they may want to do more. But, having had a visit from them a few years ago, the picture they build up of you during your chat is likely to influence your future dealings with them. So get all the advertised mileages on your forecourt up to date, don't advertise something with 50000 miles if its done 50551. they want accuracy. And get all your paperwork in order so they can see all your cars advertised have current MOT's.
Dont advertise with full service history unless theres a stamp there for every year (unless the manufacturer says differently)I'd also suggest a quick check that they all start and no bulbs have blown. If thy think that your cars which are currently available for sale are all good, they will look at you far more positively and listen to your side of the story.

Yeah it does amaze me.  It's like they think they're being smart but fail to realize we do this for a living a see a good few of them each month.  The best ones are the ones that haggle then call the next day and its sold.  I love that.

Jackass:  But but I was going to pay a deposit.
    Me:  No, sorry it sold.
Jackass:  I was only there yesterday.
Me:  Yes, sorry, it sold later that day.

Well as he's coming down your way ask him if he'll mind bringing the car with him in case you win the AH.  2 birds, 1 stone and all that

Ebayer; Hi would you consider selling the van for trade price?
Also does it have full service history?
My response; Hi, you want me to work for nothing AND you’re also fussy about service history.
You don’t want much, do you?
    Thanks & good luck,

As a bit of sport, the trade price enquiry messers are asked to provide proof of trade insurance and plate numbers, well it passes the time

I made a boo boo on owners when I thought a R/R Sport was going through cheap a few years ago.  Was a 2010 (6 years old), Grade 4 (Needed both bumpers sprayed and drivers door card repaired), in black, black interior, HSE, shitty wheels, 77k miles, starting @ £16,000 - Dropped it to £15,000 and I got it for £15,450.  Didn't really look like I should have but it was well under CAP.
Anyway, got it back and still didn't look at things properly as I was a little chuffed.  1st call I got, "How many owners?", I was like erm, let me check....  10!! TEN!!!!!  How can a 6 year old car get 10!!?!???!
Anyway, still made £19,495, so lovely profit in that one but... TEN!?!

It's always been 48 hours after you collect or it's been delivered. Their useless transport debt can take a week for us to deliver a car 80 miles away.
I certainly wouldn't be buying from a distance if that was the case.

Its not only keyboard warriors, often find them on the lot this morning was no difference.
Bell end i mean customer spends a lifetime looking over a car with his expert who was more worried that the car didnt have a lot of screenwash in the bottle compared to his car, came up to me and said nah its not for me ok no worries have a nice Easter then he replies whats the best you will do for cash....yawn i replied what difference does that make the car isnt for you well if its a £1500 i will ave it i said £1500 would be a great deposit when do you wish to pay the balance of £1000
No i will leave it i got six others to see up the road, well up the road is Gower lots of lovely cliffs and beaches down there but no car sales, and six cheaper when i looked i couldnt find one with better spec miles and condition within 50miles so good luck with that search.
Its hard sometimes not to come across as being an arse but it does get tiring

I heard a rumour that Alphabet cars are to be avoided, this was one of them. Never again.
    4 Year old 320D
On collection, I found a Manheim auction entry sheet from 3 months earlier in the middle of the service books....
Despite a rosy AA report, the car had a blown turbo and an EML- they refused to acknowledge and insisted on a further 2 x 20 mile AA tests showed the car to be fine.
I even brought my own fault scanner and dragged the branch manager out to observe and they refused to do anything.
6 Months later I got £200 in goodwill of a Platinum account.
    Still, they've got the volume..

Ohhh I love a day out to Bedford... Always found their staff quite helpful, especially the young lady in the key office / yard.  They do a lovely Chilli sometimes
Blackbushe Cafe is the best Breakfast.  Plus I do like their bland and un spicy chicken curry with rice and chips on occasion haha.  Since their front desk staff walk out they've been a bloody nightmare though.

Don't often respond to eBay messages due to this. Never had any response back from a silly offer!
Responded to one, asking for a 15% discount plus delivery.
No, the price is the price. Delivery is extra.
Ready for the crazy part, you'll never believe it.......
Ok, send us the details and I'll pay now!
    SOLD!

I trawl the buy it now lists and some of my biggest profits come out of these, can spend a bit more time researching the current market prices less up against the clock so to speak.
That profit on the Disco sport would be alright, I would probably take the rest of the day off if I made that

No but I could just tell from your story. Those afternoon sales at Bedford are ridiculous sometimes, they give some stuff away.

Best one I can remember was a 1 year old Cyrus White Discovery Sport Auto, went cheap at £22k because it was non-UK but doesn't really matter.
The day after it was up for £30k and sold not long after.

Had enough hearing a lot of you guys moan about the messers on Ebay.  Lets turn it into some fun...  Copy the layout as it makes it easier to read.  You don't have to put the vehicle, but I just thought it gives a better perspective of the Ebayer.
    Vehice:  Merc Convertible E350 50kmiles 2010 @ £13500
    Ebayer: £10000?
    Me: £15000?
Ebayer: Bought one now for £8000
    Me: Ok £14000?

Nice 1!!!  Glad to hear some bargains still floating.
Hahaha done the similar thing last week with Bedford.
2009 Mini Cooper S Convertible 82k...  £2750, expecting a rattly pile of BUT I think I must have just caught it as we drove it back (100mile journey) and so far so good.  1 thing is the roof underlining is missing... I mean WTF, who wants that?

Always keep an eye on whats going on online and been looking out for a C-max for member of the family, unsurprisingly all going way over book, well, the decent stuff is. but while logged in, noticed a 2008 Clubman Cooper, 1 owner, 60k, pepper pack, just serviced and years ticket. Stalled at £2450 against book of £3500. Put in a cheeky £2500 against a "not sold"... wasn't expecting anything of it...... next thing I know I've bought it....
So now the worry, yup, its a grade 4 and looks grubby, but straight, no lights.. so why the hell did this go so cheap when everything else is going above book, they are fairly good news normally... I must stop impulse buying. Just got to wait till it turns up smoking and limping into the car park, knocking like a tractor....
