CHANNEL 4’s award winning motoring web site 4Car is about to launch a motoring classifieds service for its users.

This will further enhance the already successful site and give automotive dealers access to Channel 4’s large audience of car enthusiasts and potential car buyers.

Having reviewed the options available to give its viewers the most up-to-date and wide-ranging car locator service, Channel 4 elected to work with motoring classifieds publisher UK-cars-for-sale in order to provide the required flexibility, control, versatility and ease of use.

UK-cars-for-sale utilises Skupe Net’s Brandbuilder solution to provide the inventory system for dealer listings and car locators, plus the ability to link everything together seamlessly to give visitors all the information they require.

The result is that consumers and sellers are put in touch with each other more quickly and more efficiently. In the case of 4Car, site visitors will have immediate access to over 230,000 vehicles from more than 4,000 dealers.

For the website publisher, Skupe Net’s classifieds technology gives site visitors much more scope to find the exact make and model of car they are looking for, at the right price and at the most convenient location; for car dealers, or dealer groups, being able to have their inventory of new and used cars accessible to hundreds and thousands of extra potential buyers via the internet is a huge sales aid.

‘This is a significant step for 4Car,’ says Dan Gilbert, the producer. ‘Being able to access cars for sale will add another valuable tool to the web site. We decided to work with UK-cars-for-sale and Skupe Net because the solution offers a good alternative to the traditional classified suppliers. It is a more dynamic approach, seemingly better able to adapt to our exact needs.’

Skupe Net’s Bernard McGranaghan added: ‘As one of the top motoring publishers in the market, we are delighted to have Channel 4 on board. We are confident that Brandbuilder will provide the ideal solution, with classifieds integrated seamlessly with the existing 4Car web site.

‘This will result in two clear benefits: site visitors will have an even greater choice and superior web experience, and car dealers will have a very effective sales channel as well as a great advertising opportunity.’
