BMW dealer bought

Time 2:28 pm, January 9, 2009

ONE of the Midland’s leading independent BMW dealerships, Robert Stern, has been sold to Rybrook Group.

The deal for Worcester-based Robert Stern – arranged by Poppleton & Appleby, Birmingham’s leading business advisors – is valued at around £1m.

‘We are delighted that the sale has gone through successfully,’ said a spokesman for Poppleton & Appleby.

‘The owners of Robert Stern felt that the best way forward for the company was to be a part of a larger group, while Rybrook has been able to add to its considerable presence in the West Midlands.’

Rybrook was founded in 1937 and currently has 16 dealerships across the country including BMW/MINI at Shrewsbury, BMW in Warwick and MINI in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Poppleton & Appleby appointed a small team from Shoosmiths, a city-based law firm to help seal the deal.
