BCA Marketplace has agreed a five-year auto services contract with BMW UK that includes its specialist leasing business Alphabet.

The agreement, which is for a minimum of five years, will see BCA provide a full range of joined-up services ranging from dock to defleet and beyond.

It marks the culmination of the BCA Marketplace strategy of being the market leader of integrated solutions for both physical and digital services to the auto industry.

BMW UK has worked with BCA to build and develop an innovative, cost-efficient and market-leading solution for its used car needs.

Over the next five years, BCA will solely defleet, refurbish, inventory-manage and remarket both physically and digitally vehicles on behalf of BMW UK, including 90 per cent volume for Alphabet, making it the single biggest remarketing contract BCA has signed in its history.

BMW UK has also agreed a five-year deal for BCA Fleet Solutions to be the sole defleet and refurbishment partner, with BCA building a new dedicated BMW defleet centre that will handle all its storage and refurbishment needs.

In addition, BCA Logistics has been awarded a seven-year deal as inspect-and-collect provider to BMW and Alphabet.

Stewart Hodges, BMW UK’s remarketing operations manager, said: ‘The BCA business model is unique in its breadth of services across the supply chain, and this provides a compelling customer service offering and creates efficiencies through synergies across all divisions.

‘For BMW, the opportunity to partner with BCA across a range of remarketing, logistics, preparation and inventory management services will bring economies of scale and generate real value.’

Craig Purvey, BCA’s chief commercial officer, said: ‘We are delighted to have secured this substantial and significant volume of business from one of our longest-standing corporate customers.

‘BCA is on the record as stating our strategy is to integrate along the automotive value chain, focusing on developing extended, unified solutions, increasing volumes, creating value-added services and improving efficiencies. This significant deal with BMW Group underlines that BCA is creating the most efficient, sustainable and profitable vehicle exchange with the capacity to meet the growing needs of the motor industry.’

Matt Bristow, BCA’s OEM commercial director, added: ‘BMW Group provides the used vehicle sector with a range of attractive, aspirational and profitable used vehicles, and we are delighted that our buyer customers will be presented with the widest choice and biggest volume of BMW Group products over the course of this agreement.’
