JAMES Bond’s Lotus Esprit, from The Spy Who Loved Me, is to hit the car auction halls.
Bonhams will handle the sale of the white Goldfinger star Lotus.
Daniel Craig and Quantum Of Solace have reignited interest in all things Bond. As such, Bonhams expects to raise an astonishing £100,000-£120,000 for the Esprit!
One of two cars driven by Roger Moore in the film, this is the famous amphibious Lotus. A 1976 model, it was also the motor 007 entertained Barbara Bach.
The auction will be held on 1 December at London’s Olympia. At the same event, the registration plate ‘AU1’ will also be sold.
This was a plate seen in Goldfinger. It was used on the villain’s Rolls-Royce Phantom III. Au being, of course, the periodic table symbol for gold…
It is expected to achieve a solid-gold £80,000 or more. Check out Bonhams to (apologies…) spy some cars you may love.
