MAGISTRATES have imposed a £100 fine on a used car salesman who traded from a residential address without a licence.

The dealer, Hasan Tasoglu, of Ash Grove, Palmers Green, in the London borough of Enfield, was prosecuted by the local council for having cars on sale in Albany Park Avenue, the Enfield Independent reported.

After complaints from residents of the street, council officers visited the road and found a trio of vehicles on sale. A warning was left on each car informing the owner that they were committing an offence and that the vehicles could be seized.

The officials returned the next day, and although the cars had been removed, a blue Vauxhall was found on sale nearby.

Tasoglu was discovered to be the man with the insurance for the vehicle, the newspaper reported, and when interviewed under caution he admitted that he didn’t have the necessary licence for trading in the street.

Tottenham magistrates fined Tasoglu £100. In addition, he was told to pay £600 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
