Time 7:50 am, October 18, 2013

worling at laptopWANT to chat about the industry you love in an environment full of like-minded people? Well now you can with the Car Dealer Forum.

Launched today, our brand new online space allows you to chat about any motor trade-related topic or issue to other industry people – and that’s dealers, suppliers and the Car Dealer Magazine team.

Simply by signing up you’ll be in touch with hundreds of industry individuals. It only takes a few minutes and you’ll then be free to share your news, views and opinions with your colleagues and us.

Why a forum?

Car Dealer is known for proactively speaking to its readership through social media and our unique events and awards ceremonies. But the Car Dealer Forum takes our interaction with our readers to a new level. Haven’t used a forum before? Fear not – quite a few of the most techie members of the Car Dealer Magazine team have never dabbled in the art of forum chatter, and it couldn’t be easier. It’ll quickly become addictive!

How do I sign up?

Simply type www.cardealermagazine.co.uk/forum into a web browser – or click here – and click ‘Sign up’ in the top right-hand corner. Your log-in will be processed by our web team who will send you a validation email containing a link. Click the link and you’ll be taken to the Forum. Enter your name and email address and come up with a jazzy username that you’d like to be known by on the site. If you wish you can give yourself a unique ‘avatar’ – a little picture that goes alongside all of your posts – and you can enter your Twitter, Facebook and other social media details to help find you new followers and friends.

Creating a new post couldn’t be easier either – just follow the simple instructions.

Comment away

Without doubt the best feature about the new forum is how it integrates with our website. When you’re reading a news story on our site you’ll now notice a ‘Comment on this story’ box at the bottom of the page. Click it and it’ll create a new post on our forum, allowing you and others to comment and chat about the post.

Found a topic you want to track the progress of? Hit ‘Follow this topic’ to receive a notification when someone posts in that thread. You can post topics and replies either directly into the forums, or by using the handy link at the bottom of any of the news stories on our website.

Rules

Encouraging free thought is one thing, but naturally there are rules attached. The Car Dealer Forum is open to you sharing your views but don’t think that means it’s an open door to being abusive. Any material posted which is obscene, false, misleading, inaccurate or generally unpleasant will not be tolerated. The simple rule is if you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, don’t say it! Also, blatant promotion will not be allowed – that’s what advertising is for. For a full list of rules, click here.
