CARSNIP, the UK’s largest used car search engine, will be among the companies appearing at the Car Dealer Theatre at CDX17 on May 23.
Carsnip is a search engine dedicated to used cars, and it allows dealers to list their stock free of charge.
The company shattered its own expectations for 2016, and has continued to grow in 2017.
The Car Dealer Theatre is a brand new concept for CDX and has been designed to allow car dealers to hear about the best new products quickly and easily.
The company’s founders, Alastair Campbell and Stuart Noad, will present a session on new sales opportunities for the digital car dealer.
New research will be presented which promises to show that, when it comes to used car sales in 2017, trust and personalisation are key.
The findings will include previously-unseen findings from a YouGov survey of 2,000 customers and the team will discuss how the smartest car dealers can use them to their commercial advantage.
Alastair Campbell, Carsnip CEO, said: ‘We wanted to challenge that frustrating cliché that says used car salespeople can’t be trusted. Our research shows that they can, and in fact when it comes to the Holy Grail of repeat business, trust breeds loyalty. Trust takes time to develop and this is where the most digitally-savvy dealers are winning – by focusing on driving early-stage customers to their websites as early as possible.
‘These dealers are supporting drivers through their car-buying journey by positioning themselves as the experts – this is the opposite of today’s classified websites where dealers generally engage with customers at the end of the buying process when price is more likely to be the primary motivation.
‘The big take-away for dealers is that building trust and investing in digital skills to drive early-stage engagement with buyers can pay off in more sales and better margins.’
