hire-company-on-hunt-for-top-dealersDEALERS are being challenged to raise standards, to be in the running for a series of big awards.

Contract hire and leasing company ALD Automotive has unveiled its 2009 Dealer Awards scheme, to find the country’s top franchised dealers.

Dealers will have to show top skills in the following categories:

• Ability to respond promptly to new car enquiries
• How they handle all issues from order to delivery
• How they fare in relation to promised delivery schedules
• Any additional help over and above expected service levels

ALD runs a fleet of over 50,000 vehicles. It relies on a network of 80 approved franchised dealers across the UK to do this, supplying both new cars and vans.

It’s the second year of running for the awards. The constant monitoring that being a part of the awards actually saw 2 poorly-performing dealers replaced last year.

However, 4 dealers did come through to be quarterly winners in 2008

• Drive Vauxhall in Bristol
• Stephen James BMW in Enfield
• Gilder Volkswagen/Audi Fleet in Chesterfield
• Spire Automotive (Watford Audi)

Dealer account manager Felice Di Cello said: ‘The aim of the awards is to further improve our service to our customers.

‘Accurate information in terms of new car availability and delivery is crucial, so that our fleet customers can ensure a seamless transition to new vehicles for their company car and van drivers.

‘The launch of the awards has resulted in significant competition among dealers when they see each quarters’ results. They all want to be at the top of the table and earn recognition for a job well done.’

ALD Automotive MD Keith Allen added: ‘The awards are a win-win for everyone. High-performing dealers not only receive award recognition, but they, naturally, put themselves in a stronger position to win more new car orders from ourselves.

‘In today’s tough business market, no-one can afford to turn such business away.’
