To mark the occasion, members of Manheim’s senior management team rolled up their sleeves to ensure the first sale was a success.

Richard Cross, head of corporate and manufacturer sales at Manheim, and Ian Crowther, general manager of Manheim Bruntingthorpe, both got stuck into valeting cars prior to the new weekly sale on Wednesday 3 August.

According to the auction house, the sale saw strong demand from buyers and achieved a high conversion rate on the day.

Simon Patel, head of remarketing and logistics at ALD Automotive, said: ‘It was great to see Richard and Ian putting their personal touch onto the sale to ensure it was a success – although I’m not sure they should give up their day jobs!’

Cross added: ‘I’m sure our team of expert valeters do a better job than we did, but we were pleased to help out with preparations and were happy with the result of this launch sale.’

The ALD Automotive weekly sale is now a feature of the Manheim Bruntingthorpe calendar on Wednesdays.

The sale, starting at 10:00am with the ALD section at 11.00am, offers a great choice of vehicles including Ford, Vauxhall, Kia, Hyundai, and many more major brands.
