Time 10:30 pm, June 3, 2008

MONDIAL Assistance has made a significant investment in a core diagnostic solution from Omitec Limited. The system, which is being designed specifically to meet the online communication needs of Mondial, will also give technicians access to detailed diagnostic information including Engine Management, ABS, Airbag, Air Conditioning and Security.

Julian Soanes, Omitec Group Business Development Director said: ‘The solution we deliver will be a blend of our current leading edge diagnostic platform with some very unique features specifically designed for Mondial.’

The new system will function on a rugged PC platform developed by General Dynamics Itronix, the leading supplier of rugged PCs to the defence industry. Importantly, the PC will link the technicians directly to the Mondial IT network, allowing email and extranet access which has not been previously achievable.

The streamlined, integrated system allows all relevant information to be instantly available to the technician, dramatically increasing efficiency and accuracy. This not only saves time for the technician and therefore the business, but also reduces the motorist’s waiting time as diagnosis is much quicker and easier.

Robert James, Technical Services Director of Mondial Assistance said: ‘We believe strongly in constantly reviewing the tools we supply to our technicians so as to ensure they are armed with the best support at all times. Through Omitec we have a solution which fits all of our developmental criteria and will guarantee that we deliver the best possible service to our customers.’
