Orange to electrify sales?

55901-a-sea.jpgWHITE cars used to be the preserve of, well, almost nobody.

In 2007, SEAT sold 24 white cars.

So far this year, it’s sold 886 – that’s a sales increase of 3592 per cent!

Canny SEAT marketing men are taking the credit. At the start of the year, they identified white as the ‘next big thing’.

And going on such success, maybe we should be listening to their predictions for the future. Namely, the bespoke bonkers hues that form part of SEAT’s £550 ‘custom palette’ range.

Vivid orange, apparently, is being earmarked for success; as seen here on the Leon Cupra. Then there’s equally intense metallic blue and an alarming ‘Kiwi Green’.

But we particularly like the idea of ‘Furia Grey’. What is it? Battleship grey, no less – for the ultimate stealth effect?

Either way, those with white cars in their used stock are currently well placed to enjoy the vagaries of fashion. Here’s waiting, then, to see if dark grey or violent orange become the next must-have…
