POLICE are making inquiries into an incident in which a smartly dressed crook brazenly drove off in a car parked at a Leicester dealership.

The man, wearing a suit, can be seen on a video posted to LinkedIn wandering around the site of Parkway Volkswagen Leicester in the city’s St Margaret’s Way.

Commenting on the footage, Hytham Namruti, used car sales controller/manager at Parkway Volkswagen Group, said: ‘The man in the grey suit in this footage was audacious enough to walk into our Leicester site and steal a Golf R. Be cautious, and if seen, please notify the police.’

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Car Dealer: ‘At around 12.30pm on Tuesday, November 6, we received a report that a car had been stolen from St Margaret’s Way, Leicester.

‘The car, a Volkswagen Golf, has been recovered and inquiries are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.’
