THE Motor Industry Code of Practice is good news for consumers as well as retailers, said an RMI chief.
Ray Holloway, director of the RMI’s Independent Garage Association, said: ‘The code will be the route to success for the motor industry.’
Over 5500 garages have already said they intend to sign up when the code is launched to consumers in August. The web-based system was launched last week, and already has attracted plenty of interest.
‘The Motor Industry Code of Practice aims to promote and safeguard the interests of consumers, by helping them identify subscribing garages and providing an easily accessible and robust dispute resolution mechanism, should it be necessary,’ added Holloway.
