SKODA has named its best performing UK retailers at its Retailer of the Year Awards ceremony held in London.
The much coveted gold award has gone to Cramlington-based Silbury Skoda in the large retailer category; Newport-based Capitol Škoda in the medium-sized retailer category; and Morecambe-based David Ian & Son in the small retailer category.
These annual awards, now in their second year, are part of Skoda’s Retailer Incentive Programme and are designed to reward top achievers, encourage competitiveness and help share best practice across the UK retailer network.
With Skoda’s continued focus on happy drivers – customer satisfaction and service delivery are among the main criteria considered by the manufacturer, alongside vehicle sales and financial performance.
Skoda is a brand which wants to create happy retailers as well as happy drivers and to prove it David Ovenden, Head of Operations at Skoda, went to the extent of singing to the winners on the day.
On a completely serious note, he said: ‘This year has seen a record number of businesses actively participating in the awards, which shows that our retailers are hungry for success.
‘As well as rewarding the best performers, the awards are helping us drive retailer profitability and stimulate competitiveness within the network. We have ambitious growth plans for our network, supported by the increasing popularity of our cars and the personal approach to customers that is displayed by our retailers.’
Škoda runs a network of 135 retailers in the UK. High quality customer service, consistently delivered by the network, has placed the manufacturer amongst the UK’s most loved car brands.
