STONEACRE Motor Group has added to its portfolio and extended its reach across the north-east of England after buying out Mill Garages.

As well as the Sunderland branch, the car dealership group has also taken over Mill Garages’ other three sites in Harrogate, Newcastle and Stockton, adding to the brand’s existing Volvo representation in Chesterfield, Grimsby, Lincoln and Sheffield to total eight Stoneacre Volvo sites nationwide.

Alan Rennison-Rae, general manager at Mill Garages Sunderland, said: ‘Everyone at Mill Garages is delighted to have joined forces with the fantastic Stoneacre brand, and we shall continue to provide fantastic models and excellent service to our customers.’

Customers can expect to see the same personnel in the newly acquired Stoneacre branches, with all members of staff – including Mill Garages founder Bill Ward and operations director Jeff Tabb – remaining in the existing sites.

Established in 1994, Stoneacre first acquired a bankrupt dealership in Scunthorpe – which remains one of its 47 now-thriving branches. Mill Garages, which was bought for an undisclosed sum, has represented the Volvo brand since 1965.
