Tesco enters tyre market

Time 2:57 pm, January 17, 2011

tyreTESCO has officially entered the car tyre market and will offer the ‘best-priced’ tyres it has been announced.

The UK leading retailer has joined forces with online tyre Blackcircles.com to launch Tesco-Tyres.com. The venture promises to deliver savings of up to 40 per cent and help 13 million Clubcard holders earn reward points and special offers.

Tesco-Tyres.com has announced it will ‘offer UK motorists the best-priced, fully fitted tyres, exclusively from Blackcircles.com with significant savings compared to the high street’, and also aims to deliver greater transparency in the business of selling tyres.

Customers will be able to order tyres online or over the phone and have them fitted at one of the 1200 local independent Blackcircles.com garages throughout the UK.

Mike Welch, Blackcircles.com’s founder, said: ‘This launch marks one of the UK’s biggest motoring ventures of the last ten years. It has taken four years of careful planning and the result is an unbeatable deal for UK motorists, which is set to have a transformative effect on the UK tyre industry.

‘From a Blackcircles.com business perspective, the infrastructure is the same but it offers us an exclusive sales channel with a 13 million person audience.’
