‘I’LL get more for it if I sell it privately’ is the commonly-heard comment to your trade-in offer to customers.

But how many people will actually go through with it? A recent poll has uncovered the main reasons why people don’t actually do so.

The survey of over 30,000 people shows that a third of people rate ‘spending time and money on advertising’ as their number one disincentive. Next was ‘waiting ages and getting no response to advertising’, which polled 22 per cent of the votes.

The survey was conducted by online sales site www.webuyanycar.com, which does just that by providing an instant online valuation for cars. It’s worth checking out – your customers will be.

But here’s some reasons to fire back, to show the reasons why that trade-in value may be the better option, after all.
