Used car scam fears…

WORRIED motorists are being put off buying a used car through the fear of being scammed.

HPI says that nine out of 10 motorists worry that they’re going to be ripped off.

Which should be a prime opportunity for reputable used car dealers to make hay! Because such overwhelming evidence of the importance of reassurance suggests that removing such concerns from a used car sale could just clinch a deal.

Many motorists are keen to buy, it seems, but are letting fear put them off. So remove that fear from them, and sales may well just follow.

Alarmingly, HPI’s survey also reveals that one in 10 motorists admits they’re had direct experience of fraud when purchasing a used vehicle. As such, eight out of 10 are demanding more information on current scams, to avoid falling prey to crooks.

You should be doing this for them. If you have a strong reputation, ensure the message gets out there. Show off the fact that you carry out full provenance checks, and only buy the best stock. Offer cast-in-stone guarantees and reassurance all along the way.

HPI is referring to private sales in offering advice to consumers. Here’s your opportunity to enhance peace of mind with the full support of a reputable dealer’s name. Soothe their minds and make the sale!
