Same Comerfords family whom also ran bike shops and imported Bultacos?

Miles wise, a super clean metallic piss yellow Clio around 2002 model year, 1.2 16v with wait for it.....238k, the same average miles as it is to the moon.

...one caring owner from new, just regular serviving with clean oil and air and still on original clutch with thrust bearing a tad noisy, but only a gnats tad.

I don't think they ever had anything to do with bikes but big in the banger job in the 70's and 80's. Went into better stuff as time progressed.

Part of the Comerford dynasty, Mike(father) and the 4 lads Alan, Michael, Stephen and David. Started in Stockton(Would do 100 plus bangers some WEEKS from that site) and when the lads got older they had places in Darlington,Hartlepool and the Boro(Grangetown). All before the days of CRA. Where are you from Trade Vet? Must be reasonably local.

Hi Stocked Up

I can recall Comerfords adverts aswell.I am up the road in Newcastle. So is Big Mike on here your father .

There was definitely a Big Mike's in Darlington back in the day - no relation. I know a guy who bought an XR2 off him once, but the less said about that the better. As for me, I'm based in the West Midlands. I can't tell you where or I'd have to shoot you.

Where did it go wrong? It didn't. I did main dealer stuff for Austin-Rover, Fiat and Citroen but went independent in around 1990. Cheap stuff always sells. Plus, the cars are more interesting if you're a grizzly old petrolhead with a fondness for old Jags.

I remember as a youngster looking at a Mk2 Escort. It was a 1.3 on the log book “But it’s got a 1.6 in it. It f***in flies lads, 1.3 insurance, get the f***er bought”. That honestly was the sales patter

Happy days.

Thought it was about time. I've only been associated with Car Dealer for about 11 years... It's taken me that long to master the internet. Apparently it sells cars ;-)

As a newbie, do you have a stupid question we can abuse you for?

1990 Volvo 940 2.3 SE Estate. We bought it with 220k on it. Sold it no problem. It was a local car so I used to see the punter every now and then. I think it did 350k by the time he passed it on.

We used to sell loads of 740/940/850 Estate Volvos. Bought them direct from main dealer always with high miles and FSH...but the dog hairs in some;)

Saw a high mileage 2015 Toyota Auris hybrid go through Bedford bca yesterday, 199000 miles, suprisingly clean with FSH, didnt expect it to fetch much as the batteries probably wanted replacing but it fetched over 4K if I remember correctly!

This is fast turning into one of the most mentioned models on this forum. Closely followed by Astra.

My highest mileage sale - Two stand out: My own 2006 Merc CLK220 CDI bought at BCA in 2012 at 180K miles (£4200) and sold in 2016 at 250K miles for £3300 after a flurry of calls. It was almost like new. Fantastic car.

A Volvo S70 2.3T5 R with 190K miles I sold on eBay for £2200 to a buyer in Newcastle (I am in Bucks). I delivered it to his door and he dropped me off to Newcastle airport for a short flight back to Stansted. Delivered by me personally and free and I enjoyed every mile! Never again though, too risky :-)

Sorry, no he isn't my father, I was merely stating that the father was called Mike aswell as one of the lads.

Just sold a manual C Class the other day, 10 plate with low miles, a proper northen car :D

What a great car. I have a fondness for  petrol Volvos

Just taken an 850 2.3 T5 Auto in chop. scruffy but a lovely old thing. Shows 188k miles but the mileometer doesn't work so who knows how many it's done

Goes really well...that 5 cylinder engine is a peach. So many switches in it...

I'll shut up now

Not the highest mileage car ever, but we have just taken a 2012 Hyundai I20 petrol in chop with 195k.
