Wilsons’ bumper sales

Time 3:07 pm, October 5, 2010

wilsons-uk-successWILSONS auction house of Portadown has bucked the current trend by announcing its best fleet sales in 2010.

The Irish site’s latest auction enjoyed a 100 per cent conversion rate with some models achieving in excess of 110.8 per cent of CAP, with some prices reaching up to 10 per cent above the market rate.

Strong demand has been experienced throughout the year, with motor traders turning to the auction house for good quality, great value ex-fleet vehicles touted as the reason.

Edmund Madine, general manager at Wilsons Auctions, said: ‘The motor trade recognise that they can get guaranteed quality vehicles from Wilsons Auctions because of our strong relationships with fleet vendors.

‘Private buyers also recognise the value these vehicles offer and continue to provide a huge demand.  More and more buyers are choosing ex fleet vehicles as an alternative to new cars in the current financial climate.

‘This demand is attracting more motor traders to our auctions from not only Northern Ireland but Southern Ireland and England.’
