6 out of 10 want to buy in 2009WHAT Car? magazine says that six out of 10 people are considering buying a new car this year.

This is great news for UK car dealers, proving that there is still lots of interest in buying new cars.

To support these findings, the magazine is launching a £1 million advertising campaign. This will take the form of adverts in the publishing group’s sister titles, linking to the What Car? website.

New pages have been created there, showing the best new car deals and finance offers from every car maker.

It is hoped this will help drive traffic to car dealer’s websites, and boost new car leads and enquiries.

What Car? group publisher Jim Lee said: ‘We are superbly positioned to support the industry; matching the shrewd buyer of today with the perfect new car deal.’

The site is keen to give a bold signal to car buyers: ‘Whether it’s a cracking discount on a 58-plate car or a fantastic finance offer for when the plates change in March, we’ve got the perfect way to get the message across that now is the time to buy.’

New car discounts are at their most generous level in over 8 years, and could get even bigger, according to research by the title.
