Nissan Note hits dealers

Time 9:38 am, September 26, 2013

NoteDELIVERIES have begun of Nissan’s new British-built Note.

Production of the Nissan Note is now in full swing at the brand’s manufacturing plant in Sunderland – and dealers are now completing customer deliveries.

The Japanese car maker has already taken 14,000 pre-orders for the new Ford Fiesta rival and is expects it to be one of its best-sellers. Sales are expected to exceed more than 100,000 cars per year in Europe.

‘The new Note fulfils a really important role in our new product portfolio, combining smart design with purposeful technology that has never been offered in the B-segment before,’ says chief marketing manager for Nissan Europe, Geraldine Ingham.

‘We’ve used design and engineering innovation to make premium technologies accessible to everyone.’

Last month, Nissan GB boss Jim Wright told us the new Note and refreshed Mirca will be key to the business’s success and explained these would be the busiest six months for his network he’s ever known.

‘This is the most important time in my memory for Nissan,’ he said. ‘We have some fantastic new cars coming, but we need to do it properly. I’m extremely optimistic about the opportunity we have before us – we’ve been spending a lot to promote these new cars – and we have to make the most of them.

‘We’re aiming for six per cent market share in 2015 and that’s achievable. Look at the success we’ve had this year already – and that’s been without the new products we have now. We all just need to keep our foot to the floor.’
