Blue Lions for London

005537600_1215512720.jpgPEUGEOT is joining the ranks of makers retailing ‘green-orientated’ branding.

At this year’s British Motor Show, the Blue Lion tagline will be launched to visitors.

Don’t confuse it with VW’s Bluemotion range, though. These aren’t bespoke eco-orientate models – but, like Renault’s eco2 line, a cover-all category for cars ticking a set number of boxes.

They’re yet to be formally determined, but expect Blue Lions to emit less than a set level of CO2 (140g/km?), be largely recyclable and produced in an environmentally sustainable factory.

The company argues that adopting green branding for mainstream cars, rather than economy focused specials, is better for the environment, as more ‘low emission’ cars will be sold.
