220305com.jpgYOUR valet team probably knows all this already.

But even so, we were interested by recent disclosures from Avis Rent A Car, on how its guys ensure thousands of rental cars emerge pristine every day.

And it’s far from conventional! here’s the Car Dealer summary of what’s in their kit box…

MAYONNAISE
Used for removing road tyre stuck to tyres or paintwork

COOKING OIL
For bird droppings or flies stuck to windscreens. Also removes brake dust on wheelarches, and helps shine tyres.

BAKING SODA
Good for any type of stain or mark: dab on interior, leave for 20 minutes, then wash off.

WHITE VINEGAR
Great for windscreens: stops dust and smears collecting.

LINSEED OIL
For cleaning leather – and it softens the hide, too.

STICKY TAPE
Removes hidden dust particles in seat fabric.

ICE CUBE IN CLOTH
Rubbing it over chewing gum will eventually break the gum off, with no residue.
