CZECH brand Skoda has recored it’s best August ever in its 117-year history.
Deliveries of new Skodas to customers worldwide grew by 12.1 per cent to 67,700 units last month, setting a new record, and market share grew to 3.2 per cent.
January to August figures are also a record in 2012 with 633,300 cars delivered worldwide, representing a 8.5 per cent increase on the same period last year.
Werner Eichhorn, Skoda board member for sales and marketing said: ‘We have outperformed the market in almost all sales regions, despite an environment that is becoming more and more difficult. Despite stronger headwinds from the market, we hope we can continue to grow in the future.’
Skoda UK achieved a record first half of 2012, registering over 28,000 cars. The UK-arm of the firm is hoping to beat its record sales year in 2011 in which they sold 45,000 cars and held a 2.7 per cent market share.
