Diamond Lotus

2703.jpgLOTUS is 60 years old. To celebrate, it’s produced a one-off Europa, valued at £150,000.

Why so much? Because the model has been painted in a special high-gloss black paint, containing tiny glass flakes.

They give the appearance of a ‘diamond’ finish… geddit?

There is also a diamond-set Lotus nose badge. Top prize for car badge thieves, that.

Indeed, 164 diamonds account for £111,000 of that list price. They were supplied by local experts Winsor Bishop.

The car will be shown this weekend, at Lotus’ base in Hethel, as part of the brand’s birthday celebrations.

Real diamonds have been replaced with fake ones for the display model…

A diamond-free production model, featuring black leather interior, bespoke gearknob and that special paint, should start to retail, for the high-£30ks.
