Diamond Range Rover

autobiography.jpgFARNELL is one of the oldest Land Rover dealer groups in the world… indeed, it’s as old as the company itself.

And a very special Range Rover had been displayed to celebrate this fact.

Farnell Land Rover Guiseley is displaying a bespoke Range Rover Sport HST Autobiography, which celebrates both 60 years of Land Rover and the dealer group.

The Range Rover is the world’s only Sport Autobiography to have undergone the custom programme, which gives customers virtually a blank canvass.

And how someone has gone to town here. The Lamborghini metallic orange paint is unmissable, finished off by unique alloys and twin square-section chromed exhausts.

Inside, there’s diamond-stitched black Nappa leather, Harman/kardon Logic 7 stereo, privacy glass and an electric sunroof.

That’s surely enough to have current Sport HST owners – who include Steven Gerrard – green with envy. Or even orange.

The distinctive spec was, however, not chosen by a customer, but by the Guiseley dealership itself, to highlight the possibilities for creating a bespoke machine.

Operations manager Jatinder Aujla said: ‘The Autobiography programme involves taking a car off the production line once it is built, and then hand-customising it to a customer’s required specification.’

‘In this case, we chose to repaint the car in a unique colour to mark our diamond anniversary, and it’s a nice twist on Land Rover’s traditional colours of green and orange.’

Customers may, of course, say that they can take a Range Rover to any number of aftermarket specialists, and have similar work done. Aujla advises against this route, though. ‘You can really tell the difference in the quality of finish when you see this vehicle in the flesh. Nothing can beat an official factory conversion, and the vehicle will always command a premium for this authenticity.’

The one-off Range Rover is available for purchase at a cool £79,995. Meanwhile Farnell will use it for promotion and display to celebrate their 60th anniversary year.

This year, the dealership also became the first in the north, and the one of only six in the entire country, to get a £500,000 deluxe refurbishment, including a new luxury customer waiting area.
