Fiat reveals turbo-charged 500

IT’S the one we were waiting for – Fiat has confirmed it will build an Abarth version of the Fiat 500.

 

The stonking little city car will boast a sprightly 135bhp 14-litre 16v turbocharged engine – and performance is likely to be impressive as a result.

 

Expect a 0-60mph dash of sub seven seconds and a top speed of around 130mph. The engine gets two different settings with a ‘normal’ mode delivering 180Nm of torque and a ‘sport’ mode delivering 206Nm. The powerplant will be mated to a five speed gearbox.


 

These are the first official pictures of the car – and as you can see it looks absolutely cracking. We can’t wait to try it out.
