RSR Police are looking to speak to candidates with experience of vehicle repair and maintenance to join our clients Fleet Team to assist in the delivery a prompt, efficient and effective vehicle repair service to maximise vehicle availability for the client.

This role is a temporary contract for 12 months, working Monday to Friday with the occasional need to work weekends depending on the business’ needs. The rate of pay for this role is £12.49 per hour PAYE. 

Main Duties:

  • Repair, service and maintenance of fleet vehicles to a high standard and conforming with legislative regulations including commissioning and decommissioning of vehicles
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and data to resolve faults
  • Carry out safety and quality checks to Force standards on all fleet vehicles including external repairs and service
  • Complete all documentation relating to vehicle maintenance operation accurately and promptly to assist with revenue and capital budget control.
  • Provide administration duties by both written and electronic means including fleet management systems ensuring Data Protection
  • Provide, where necessary, roadside vehicle repairs or recovery to fleet vehicles
  • Carry out electrical repairs as required to fleet vehicles including specialised equipment
  • Undertake training to be multi-skilled and to keep up to date with technology

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a similar role in vehicle repair and maintenance in a vehicle workshop environment
  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment, vehicle electrical systems and repair and maintenance of all types of vehicles
  • Experience of all types of vehicles including light commercial and specialised vehicles
  • Trained as a MOT approved tester
  • Full driving licence
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Technology
  • Problem solving and fault finding using manuals and technical specifications
  • Repair and maintenance to a high standard
  • Experienced of roadside recovery and repairs.
  • Effective communication within a team and with internal/external contacts.
  • Competent in the use of IT for systems and record updates

This role will be subject to vetting and the successful individual will be required to obtain and maintain these clearances.
