ONLINE used car retailer Autoquake has appointed a new vice president.
Andy Shields has become VP of vehicle supply and logistics. He will be charged with building volume from fleet and leasing companies.
Autoquake boasts that, despite the recent downturn, its sales have increased by over half during the last quarter. Shields’ job is to source the cars in order to continue this expansion.
Shields said the performance ‘is due to the company’s unique e-commerce technology platform, that enables cars to be remarketed directly to consumers. The monthly sales increase trajectory is really impressive and I’m looking forward to helping feed that growth.’
The former Avis Europe man moves after a decade-long tenure there. His last roles were as European fleet and remarketing director, plus European fleet planning director. He coordinated the acquisition of 200,000 cars annually – and the remarketing of 60,000 of them.
Garry Hobson, CEO, Autoquake said: ‘With more than one million page views per month on www.autoquake.com, there is a growing retail appetite to satisfy. Autoquake offers a fantastic alternative route for fleets to remarket their cars directly to the consumer.’
‘Andy’s team is here to bridge that gap by establishing senior relationships with some of the UK’s major fleet and leasing companies.”
