Rolls-Royce is currently enjoying record-breaking sales in 2008. That’s due to Eastern wealth – and the car makers are expanding abroad to help develop this.

Rolls-Royce has just opened its sixth new showroom in Greater China. The latest outlet in Hangzhou joins dealers in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Typically grand, the new dealer has 400 sq.m of floorspace and can accommodate four Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce CEO Tom Purves said: ‘This latest milestone is the first of several showroom openings which we announced in our Asia Pacific expansion plan at AutoChina 2008 in Beijing, earlier this year.’

No sooner had we finished writing this news story, though, that Rolls also announced its second dealer in India, too! This takes the world total up to 82.

Rolls-Royce is even planning a fifth model to feed this spiralling demand. The RR4 will be launched at the turn of the decade, priced ‘slightly below Phantom’. Still expensive, then. Not that, it seems, that will stop it selling…
