adrian-hewett.jpgTHE virtual world has come to car retailing.

Skoda in St. Albans has just launched an initiative called ‘Skoda2U’ – which gives customers the full range of dealer services… without physically visiting the dealer.

Palmers Motor Company has launched the scheme with Skoda UK, which is geared up to serve the growing numbers of customers who do all their business online.

The entire business is taken to customers’ homes – test drives, brochures, appraising part-exchanges, the salesperson and a sales process… basically, the full retailer experience. Just without the constraints of being based at a dealership.

Adrian Hewett, territory manager at Palmers, visits customers’ homes or workplaces at a convenient time, delivering cars and providing everything he could do within the dealership for customers, whenever and wherever they choose.

Danny Palmer, managing director at Palmers, says: ‘The full selection of vehicles to test drive is on offer and Adrian is able to price any part exchange there and then. He can then access the Skoda new car system, which allows him to quote not only delivery times, but also order online and provide full financial quotations if necessary.

The new venture covers St. Albans, Luton, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and surrounding areas. We’ll be watching it with interest… is it something you’ll be investigating? Do let us know if so.
