Royce Roberts has taken over Barkers of Hull, offering buyers in Yorkshire and The Humber a full range of Skodas.

Trading actually began on 1 July, and more recently, a two-week refurbishment programme has commenced, prior to the official opening launch on 17-21 September.

Royce Roberts himself is retailer principal, and reckons he’s joined Skoda at just the right time. ‘Skoda is a great team to be part of and have seen high times over the recent years. I believe that we can continue this success fully even during some difficult economical times and develop a solid business that can grow within the community.’

And his secrect? ‘The industry is a brilliant one where customers are priority. Customer care means everything to me – that’s why I knew that Skoda was right for me: They’re just as ambitious about increasing customer standards as I am.’

David Ovenden, head of operations, adds: ‘Launching a new retailer during Skoda’s most successful year since 2000 is an exciting prospect. Skoda is clearly leaving its mark on British consumers and we hope that we can match this in the local region.’
