SUZUKI has just appointed a new franchise in Newport, South Wales, as it continues its UK expansion plans.
Ponthir Road Suzuki has already made a strong start with its new brand, reporting ample local demand for the Grand Vitara SUV.
This means the new car dealer is already bucking one established UK trend.
Ponthir Road shares its premises with a Daihatsu franchise, and was established in 20001 after a 50-year presence in the community. The dealership includes sales and servicing facilities, with a 7-bay workshop.
Dale Wyatt, general manager of dealer development, Suzuki GB, said: ‘We are delighted to have Ponthir Road Suzuki on board, who join our franchise network at a time when our product range is equally expanding, with the imminent arrival of our 5th global strategic model.
‘Ponthir brings extensive and valuable retail experience to Suzuki, which will allow for an increased brand presence in South Wales.’
Promotional activities will include a display this weekend in Newport City Centre. There will be a prize draw run in association with the council, to win a brand new Alto.
The winner will be announced at the dealer’s launch event on 28 February.
