NISSAN has rewarded customers of official UK GT-Rs, arriving in April 2009 with a series of upgrades.
European specification GT-Rs will benefit from a tuned engine, producing 485PS – 5PS more than Japanese cars.
The hand-built 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 also produces 588Nm of torque. It is this version of the engine that set a 7 minutes 29 seconds lap of the Nurburgring (see video below).
Special Dunlop SP Sport 600 DSST tyres were also fitted to this vehicle. They’re fitted to European GT-Rs, too.
Suspension spring rates have also been honed.
European GT-Rs will be differentiated by gunmetal grey Rays 7 spoke alloy wheels. These are fitted to standard and Premium Edition models.
The Black Edition has the same wheels, in black. There is a slightly darker version of pearl white paint available for European GT-Rs, too.
GT-R prices start at £56,795. The Premium Edition adds £1300, with the Black Edition adding another £1300. These prices represent a 3.8 per cent increase over pre-December 2008 figures.
Deliveries commence in April, through special Nissan High Performance Centres. 1200 of the 2500-strong European allocation are destined for the UK. Customers ordering now will not take delivery before 2010…
