Van to the max

Volkswagen has highlighted just what a success its racing Caddy van is proving to be on the track, prior to its next race this coming weekend.

It seems the Caddy came close to creating British motorsport history last time out, by almost winning a race outright. It was beaten to the flag by but half a second. What’s more, it’s diesel-powered!

Peter Driver Peter Wyhinny, who is also, incidentally, boss of SEAT Cars UK, spoke after the race at Rockingham: ‘That was completely exhilarating, the best drive of my life.’

‘The Caddy is extremely competent and tremendous fun on the race track,’ added the former Volkswagen commercial vehicles director.

If you don’t want the lads getting any ideas, ensure they stay well away from Brands Hatch this weekend…
