Vauxhall’s VAT offer

Time 5:18 am, December 15, 2010

vauxhall-astra-new-copyVAUXHALL is working hard to make January a good month for its dealers – they’ve just announced a VAT discount.

Called the ‘Vauxhall Countdown’, the firm is giving a 20 per cent discount off the list price, before options, on the majority of its most popular models. It’s available on new cars purchased between December 27, 2010 and January 31, 2011.

The offer is bound to relieve stressed Vauxhall dealers, as January could prove to be a difficult month for the motor industry. ‘We’re committed to reducing the pain of the latest VAT rise as much as possible,’ said Peter Hope, Vauxhall’s marketing director.

‘Vauxhall Countdown is a no-nonsense 20 per cent discount that applies across almost all models in our range. It has instant appeal for all our customers and makes ownership of some of our latest, award-winning cars even more attractive than before.’

An example offer is the Astra 1.4 (100PS) Exclusiv. After the discount, the popular model’s price drops by£3,190, while the Insignia VXR plummets by £6,165 to just over £26,150.
