The Chery Tiggo 8 was the UK’s fastest-selling used car in October, as Chinese models continued to dominate the rankings.
That is according to new data from Cazoo, which found that hybrid versions of the SUV, aged less than six months, took an average of just 13.2 days to sell, when they had fewer than 50,000 miles on the clock.
The result was enough to place the model at the top of the month’s days-to-sell charts, ahead of the likes of the MG HS hybrid (14.5 days) and Jaecoo 7 hybrid (14.9 days).
Chinese manufacturers accounted for three of the top five positions, with the Hyundai i20 in fourth place at 15.9 days and the Volkswagen T-Roc completing the top five at 16.1 days.
Hybrids and electric cars proved popular once again, accounting for six of the 10 entries in the rankings.
The MG ZS hybrid took sixth place with an average selling time of 16.4 days, followed by the petrol-powered Peugeot 3008 at 17.8 days and Toyota C-HR hybrid at 18.8 days.
The Tesla Model 3 also featured twice, with examples aged four to five years taking 18.8 days to sell, while those aged five to six years averaged 18.9 days.
Cazoo said all 10 models sold in fewer than 19 days, significantly outperforming the wider used car market, where vehicles took an average of 40.2 days to sell from dealer forecourts.

Reacting to the findings, Lucy Tugby, chief marketing officer at Cazoo, said: ‘The latest Cazoo Market View shows that buyers snapped up pre-registered Chery Tiggo 8 hybrid models in just under two weeks, making the Chinese model October’s fastest-selling used car.
‘Chinese brands also took second and third place. MG HS and Jaecoo 7 hybrids sold in 14.5 and 14.9 days respectively. Both were under one year old, with mileages of 5,000–10,000.
‘Alternative-fuel cars dominated the rankings: hybrids and EVs accounted for more than half of the month’s fastest sellers. This suggests that keen pricing encouraged buyers to act quickly.
‘All of October’s top 10 fastest-selling used cars sold in under 19 days, significantly outperforming the overall market where cars averaged 40.2 days on dealer forecourts.’
