This year the firms that were highly commended in the Trade to Trade Stock Acquisition Platform category are Dealerway and CarToTrade. However, taking the title once again is a business that continues to lead the market by connecting dealers with thousands of trade vehicles every day Dealer Auction.
Kieron TeeBoon, marketplace director at Dealer Auction, said retaining the title for a second year running was a fantastic achievement for the whole business.
‘It means the world, and winning it a second year in a row is just fantastic,’ he told Car Dealer.
‘The second year in a row just shows that the team and the platform are doing everything they should be doing.’
TeeBoon said the fact the award is decided by dealers made it especially significant.
‘For us, the most important thing about this award is that it’s the dealer votes. It’s the real people out there,’ he said.
‘The fact that we’ve been trading for as long as we have and been as successful as we have – that our clients, the independents that buy from us and the vendors that sell with us take time out of their day to place a vote to say we deserve this award – means absolutely everything. And it means such a lot to all of the team.’
Asked why dealers had once again voted Dealer Auction top of the category, TeeBoon pointed to the company’s blend of technology and personal service.
‘We are a digital platform, but we’ve always been a digital platform with a human touch,’ he said.
‘We’ve got a strong team of individuals who have worked for us for a long time and built great relationships with our clients. Our vendors see that we’re doing our very best for them, and our buyers see that we’re doing our very best to get them the stock at the right time and the right price.
‘But not only that, we’ve never sat still. We’ve never rested on our past performance. We are constantly evolving to ensure the platform gives our buyers and sellers everything they want, every day, every time.’
Kieran said news of the win would delight the wider team.
‘They will be just blown away,’ he said. ‘They beaver away day after day, trying to get cars placed and get the most eyes on the stock that we possibly can. This just shows that we’re doing it right.’
Looking ahead, TeeBoon said there was plenty in the pipeline, with AI set to play a growing role – though never at the expense of the company’s personal touch.
‘There is so much on its way,’ he said. ‘There’s a great deal of talk about AI and how it’s changing the marketplace, and it’s going to move the dial. But we’re never going to take our eye off the ball of the fact that we are a digital platform with the human touch.
‘We’re going to continue to do a great deal with the data and everything we can see in the background to ensure we’re placing stock in front of the right eyes to get it sold for the best money in the quickest possible time.
‘There are so many things in the short and medium-term pipeline that I’d love to tell you about, but they’re too exciting – so watch this space. One thing we’re not doing is sitting still.’
