Luxury dealer group Dick Lovett has commissioned five exclusive Ferraris to celebrate 60 years in business.

The Swindon-based retailer has worked with Ferrari’s Atelier in Italy to create the special collection, which takes inspiration from an extremely rare 1966 Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale.

Named ‘Sessanta’, the Italian word for sixty, the collection marks six decades since Richard Augustus Lovett founded the family-run business in 1966.

Each of the five cars has been individually specified, with Dick Lovett confirming that none of the designs will be repeated.

The collection includes a Ferrari Amalfi, 12Cilindri Coupé, 12Cilindri Spider, Purosangue and 296 Speciale.

All five take their inspiration from a Ferrari 330 GTC Speciale, chassis 8727, which was built by Italian design house Pininfarina in 1966.

The vehicle was one of just six examples produced and was retained by legendary designer Sergio Pininfarina, who used it as a design study for future Ferrari grand tourers.

Each of the modern Ferraris features the same Blu Scuro paintwork as the original, alongside Cuoio Toscano leather, Argento detailing and aluminium finishes.

The cars also feature bespoke interiors, commemorative plaques, unique door sills and the signature of Dick Lovett’s founder.

The project was developed by Dick Lovett CEO Rebecca Lovett, granddaughter of the company’s founder, alongside Ferrari Swindon general manager Matthew Beard.

The pair travelled to Ferrari’s Atelier in Italy to work with the manufacturer’s specialists on the individual designs.

Speaking in a film released to mark the anniversary, Rebecca Lovett said: ‘With the Ferrari Atelier in Italy, Matthew Beard and I began with a simple idea: to take the spirit of a Ferrari from another era and reinterpret it for today.

‘Not to recreate the past, but to remember what made it special.’

Dick Lovett’s relationship with Ferrari stretches back to the early days of the business.

Richard Lovett initially operated from his home at Fairwater House in Swindon, close to the site of the group’s current Ferrari dealership.

The company became an official Ferrari Dino dealer in 1970, four years after it was founded.

It has since grown into a luxury motor retail group representing several premium and performance car brands, with Ferrari remaining a key part of the business.
