A family-run used car dealership is to bring its shutters down for good after more than two decades, following the appointment of liquidators.
Stockton Heath Car Sales Ltd has been serving motorists in Stretton, near Warrington, since 2005 but will now cease trading permanently.
The firm has been placed into voluntary liquidation, following resolutions passed by the company last month.
According to recent filings with both The Gazette and Companies House, liquidators were appointed to the firm on September 21.
The role of overseeing the liquidation process will now go to John Paul Bell and Toyah Marie Poole, both of Manchester-based Clarke Bell Ltd.
Despite the move, bosses have declared the dealership ‘solvent’ and say that it will still be able to meet its financial obligations.
Joint liquidator Bell said all creditors were expected to be paid in full, with claims able to be submitted until October 22.
He said: ‘The directors of the company have made a declaration of solvency, and it is expected that all creditors will be paid in full
‘If so required by notice from the joint liquidators, creditors must produce any document or other evidence that the joint liquidators consider is necessary to substantiate the whole or any part of a claim.’
Following the appointment of the liquidators, the firm’s official address has been changed to the Clarke Bell offices.
The dealership’s Companies House page also shows its most recent accounts over overdue, having failed to meet a September 30 deadline.
