Highly commended in this year’s Car Dealer Power category for Data Insight 2026 was JATO.
The automotive intelligence specialist is best known for its trusted market data, but is increasingly helping businesses identify vehicles, improve listings, power digital retail journeys and make better decisions in real time.
A spokesperson for JATO told Car Dealer: ‘Being highly commended in the Data Insight category is a significant endorsement for JATO, particularly because it comes from an audience working directly within automotive retail.
‘It reinforces the confidence our customers place in the quality, accuracy and practical value of our data, while also raising awareness of how JATO is evolving. Most importantly, this recognition belongs to our people. It reflects the expertise, commitment and collaboration of teams across JATO who continually turn complex automotive data into products that solve genuine industry problems.’
The spokesperson said the awards mattered because they reflect the experiences and opinions of dealers themselves.
‘Retailers depend on a broad ecosystem of data, technology and service providers, so recognition from the people using these products every day is incredibly valuable,’ they said. ‘It provides an important benchmark and a strong incentive to keep improving the products, service and outcomes we deliver for customers.’
The past year has been a transformational one for the business, which has launched JaaS (JATO as a Service), a modern vehicle-data platform that makes its automotive data available through scalable, real-time APIs that can be integrated directly into dealer systems, marketplaces and websites.
A major focus has been VINView Pro, now launched in the UK and EU.
‘A normal VIN decoder uses a vehicle’s VIN or registration number to identify the exact vehicle. VINView Pro goes further by returning not only the vehicle and its standard specification, but the actual options, packs and colours fitted when it was built,’ the spokesperson said.
‘For retailers, marketplaces and technology providers, that can mean faster vehicle onboarding, more complete and accurate advertisements, less manual checking and greater consumer confidence.’
Looking ahead, the spokesperson said the focus was on making automotive data even easier to access and apply throughout the retail journey.
‘We will continue expanding JaaS and VINView Pro, helping more businesses use vehicle identification, factory-fitted equipment and structured specification data within their existing platforms and workflows,’ they said.
‘As vehicle complexity increases, accurately identifying, describing and comparing stock will become even more important.’
