Snows Motor Group has started construction of a new Toyota and Lexus dealership in Poole, with the environmentally friendly showroom set to open next summer.
The family-run dealer group is investing in a new site on Yarrow Road, which will replace its existing Toyota and Lexus showrooms on West Quay Road.
Staff from both dealerships will transfer to the new premises, creating a combined Toyota and Lexus hub serving customers across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.
Aftersales operations, including MOT testing and servicing, will remain at the group’s existing workshops on Lyon Road.
The new dealership has been designed with sustainability in mind, with solar panels covering the roof and no fossil fuels used to heat or power the building.
Recycled stone and clay will also be used during construction, while lower-than-usual showroom ceilings are intended to reduce energy consumption.
The site will feature dedicated areas for both brands, along with customer parking and electric vehicle charging points.
Snows is also prioritising local contractors during construction, with Poole-based engineering consultancy Calcinotto and Hamworthy firm Weldrite Structures among the businesses involved.
Specialist recruitment agency PSR Solutions is sourcing local tradespeople, while Barrell Tree Consultancy is advising on how the development will fit into its surroundings.
Alex Domone, chief operating officer at Snows, said: ‘We were delighted to secure planning permission for our new Toyota and Lexus dealership in Poole.
‘This represented a significant milestone for Snows and reflects our confidence in the continued growth of Snows and the Toyota and Lexus brands.’
He added: ‘Construction activity has already commenced, and we are targeting occupation of the new site in summer 2027.
‘The showroom will be the first of its kind for us, having been designed to maximise environmental efficiency and sustainability. We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.’
Southampton-based Snows is one of the UK’s largest privately owned dealer groups and currently operates 10 Toyota dealerships and three Lexus sites.
The new Poole development will bring the two brands together under one roof as the group continues to invest in its retail network.
