Arnold Clark has opened its first Geely dealerships in Scotland as the Chinese brand continues to expand its UK retail network.

The dealer group has launched new Geely franchises in Irvine and Dumfries, adding to existing sites in Stourbridge, Chertsey, Carlisle and Huddersfield.

The Scottish showrooms will stock the Geely EX5 all-electric SUV and the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV, giving customers access to the brand’s current UK model line-up. A smaller Renault 5-rivalling electric hatchback, the Geely EX2, will also go on sale next month.

Geely entered the UK market last year as it looks to establish itself in the increasingly competitive electric and hybrid car sector. The manufacturer is part of the Geely Holding Group, which also owns Volvo Cars, Lotus and Polestar.

The EX5 is offered with an eight-year or 125,000-mile vehicle warranty, while the Starray EM-i is covered by a six-year manufacturer warranty. Geely also provides an eight-year or 125,000-mile battery warranty across its electrified range.

Russell Borrie, chief executive of Arnold Clark, said: ‘We’re delighted to bring Geely to Scotland with the opening of our new Irvine and Dumfries branches.

‘As more drivers consider making the switch to hybrid and electric vehicles, it’s important that they have access to high-quality, affordable options backed by excellent customer service.

‘Geely has already established a strong reputation globally for innovation, reliability and value, and we’re excited to introduce the brand to even more customers.’

The latest expansion comes as Geely continues to build its presence in the UK. The Chinese brand entered the market last year and registered 2,119 new cars during 2025, according to SMMT figures, as it ramps up its dealer network ahead of a wider product rollout.
