Audi has revealed its biggest SUV yet with the launch of the new Q9.
The luxury seven-seat flagship is designed to rival luxury family SUVs such as the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS and will go on sale in dealers in September.
Measuring 5.31m long and 2.21m wide, the Q9 is the largest production car Audi has ever built and the first model in the firm’s range to wear the ‘9’ badge.
The new range-topper will arrive in UK showrooms towards the end of the year after going on sale next month.
As standard, buyers will get a seven-seat layout, although Audi will also offer a six-seat version with larger individual rear chairs.
Inside, the Q9 features a three-screen dashboard comprising a 14.5-inch infotainment display, 11.9-inch digital driver’s display and a 12.3-inch passenger screen.
The system also integrates ChatGPT, allowing occupants to search for information using voice commands.
Luxury features include electrically adjustable seats throughout the cabin, with the front seats gaining heating, ventilation and massage functions as standard.
The SUV also gets Audi’s largest panoramic sunroof to date, spanning more than 1.5 square metres.
The glass roof can slide and tilt, features adjustable ambient lighting and automatically turns opaque when the vehicle is parked to help keep the cabin cool.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine paired with mild-hybrid technology, which provides an additional 24bhp and up to 370Nm of extra torque when required.
Drive is sent to all four wheels through Audi’s quattro four-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Audi has confirmed the Q9 will go on sale next month, with the first UK customer deliveries expected before the end of the year.
