Dacia has given its new Striker a first public outing as the brand looks to build on its recent success with another value-focused model.

The new electrified crossover has been showcased at Dacia’s ‘City Escape’ event on London’s South Bank, where members of the public have had their first chance to see the car in person.

The Striker combines estate car practicality with SUV styling and increased ground clearance, sitting alongside models including the Sandero, Duster, Jogger, Spring and recently launched Bigster.

Dacia has positioned the newcomer as an electrified crossover aimed at buyers wanting greater versatility without moving away from the brand’s value-for-money ethos.

To mark the launch, the manufacturer hosted an event attended by broadcaster and adventurer Monty Halls, explorer Preet Chandi MBE, presenter Anita Rani, endurance cyclist Sarah Ruggins and television personality Paul Gorton.

Dacia Striker launched in London

The public event ran to July 24 at Bernie Spain Gardens where visitors were able to view the new Striker and take part in a series of outdoor-themed activities.

Dacia has enjoyed sustained growth in the UK since launching here in 2013, selling more than 260,000 vehicles.

Across Europe, the Sandero has been the best-selling retail car since 2017, while the Duster remains one of the continent’s most popular SUVs with private buyers.

The Striker is expected to play an important role in broadening Dacia’s appeal further as the brand continues to move into new market segments while retaining its reputation for offering value-focused cars.
