Geely is targeting 45,000 UK registrations in 2027 as the Chinese manufacturer prepares to more than double its annual sales volumes.
The ambitious target comes just 12 months after the brand launched in Britain, with bosses now planning further expansion of the firm’s dealer network and model line-up.
Since entering the UK market on October 23, 2025, Geely has registered 15,264 vehicles and established a network of 80 sites.
The firm is aiming to reach 20,000 registrations by the end of 2026, before increasing that figure to 45,000 next year.
Its strongest month so far came in September, when it registered 5,155 vehicles.
Managing director Michael Yang says the pace of growth is accelerating, with the company expecting to reach its next sales milestone considerably faster than its first.
He said: ‘From the registration of the first vehicle to the first 10,000 sales, we took 10 and a half months; our momentum now is such that we will complete the second 10,000 in just three and a half months.’
The manufacturer is also pressing ahead with plans to expand its UK retail network.
It currently has 80 locations and wants to increase that number to 100 by the end of 2026.
The company says it signed a contract for its 100th location this month, although not all contracted sites are yet operational.
Longer term, Geely is targeting a network of between 130 and 140 dealerships across the UK.
However, bosses say they are prioritising dealer throughput, viability and profitability rather than simply increasing the number of showrooms.
The expansion will be supported by additional products, with Geely currently offering three models in the UK and planning to introduce another three during 2027.
The company has also established a new UK headquarters at Ansty Business Park in Coventry, bringing together its sales, aftersales, product, network development and other operations.
Geely now employs 92 people in Britain and has secured fleet agreements with Tusker and Octopus.
Yang said the business was focused on establishing itself in the UK beyond its initial launch period.
‘Our first year has been one that we can be incredibly proud of as a team as we have achieved so much,’ he said.
‘We came to the UK with a long-term ambition, and in just 12 months we have built a growing team, established a retail network, welcomed thousands of customers to the brand and opened our new home in Coventry.’
He added: ‘Our ambition is not simply to sell cars; it is to build a credible business that earns the trust of customers and makes a lasting contribution to the UK automotive market.’
