Marshall Motor Group has added another Chinese car brand to its portfolio after signing a new partnership with Changan.
The dealer group will initially represent the manufacturer at its Braintree site in Essex, offering sales and aftersales services for the brand’s electric and electrified vehicles.
The agreement comes a year after Changan officially entered the UK car market in September 2025 with the launch of its all-electric Deepal S07 SUV.
The Chinese manufacturer is now looking to expand its UK dealer network as it builds its presence in the electric and hybrid vehicle market.
Changan is one of China’s largest automotive groups, selling more than 2.9 million vehicles annually, according to the manufacturer.
It also has an established presence in Britain through its engineering and research and development centre in Birmingham.
Trevor Fussey, managing director of Marshall Motor Group, said the partnership would allow the business to offer customers greater choice as the automotive market continues to evolve.
He said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Changan to our growing brand portfolio.
‘As the automotive market continues to evolve, our customers are looking for innovative, technology-rich vehicles that deliver exceptional value and ownership experience.
‘Changan is a globally recognised manufacturer with an impressive track record of engineering excellence. We are excited to support their continued growth in the UK market.’
The agreement will see Marshall become part of Changan’s expanding UK retail operation as the manufacturer looks to establish itself among British car buyers.
Nic Thomas, managing director of Changan UK, welcomed the addition of Marshall to the brand’s dealer network.
He said: ‘We are proud to be partnering with Marshall Motor Group as we continue to introduce Changan to customers across the UK.
‘With nearly 117 years of heritage and a strong reputation for exceptional customer service, Marshall Motor Group is an ideal partner to support our next phase of growth.’
He added: ‘We look forward to working closely with the Marshall team as we build our presence in the UK and offer customers a compelling new choice in the EV and hybrid market.’
