THE DVLA is being overhauled to make it a more efficient operation for dealers and motorists.
Last October, a review of the DVLA was undertaken to simplify bulk transactions carried out by the motor trade and car drivers.
It has now been revealed that more DVLA services will be made available on online for dealers and drivers. The news follows the announcement that the paper tax disc will no longer be issued beyond October 1, 2014.
Roads minister Stephen Hammond said: ‘The DVLA already provides an excellent service for customers, as the review acknowledges, but we want to ensure this continues to improve.
‘These changes will mean drivers will find it easier to access more services online rather than filling out paper forms or spending valuable time on the phone.
‘The review found that not every customer has the same needs and the changes will reflect this – for example by providing simpler bulk transactions for key customers such as the motor trade, fleet operators and hire companies.’
